So, today during my No Spend November, I completed my usual chores, which included washing up from the night before (too damn lazy to do on the eve I eat, plus surely bending down to stack the dishwasher would result in indigestion?), fed my chickens and dogs, put a load of washing on, made the beds and hoovered (I know I should say vacuumed, but I am a child who was raised in the 70's).

Next, I entered the Study to collect the six bags I had ready to take to the Charity shop. I love Charity shops - they are run by such lovely, kind people who love a wholesome chat. They also usually have at least one piece of treasure but today I didn't dare look in case I got tempted and wanted to buy something. I handed over my goodies, which took three trips back and forth to the car, and off I went empty handed and with that warm, fuzzy feeling.

After lunch at home, I drove to meet a friend for a lakeside walk with my puppy, Lola. It was such a beautiful, Autumn day and the leaves were yellow and orange hues with the sunlight dappling through them, My friend and I did a lap of the lake and then she had to go. I did another lap with Lola, who loved sniffing all the dogs she met and doing the funny play pose all dogs seem to do. Dog owners are so friendly and it's probably as important for the dog's humans to socialise as it is for them.

I came home to more chores and am about to tackle my massive ironing pile, which should keep me out of trouble. I save up all the things I want to watch to make it more pleasurable and time speeds by.

Aesthetically this comes as a huge relief. My eyes found the original chronograph-style link pushers a bit oversized and overbearing. But, then link again, they did match the aesthetic of link the 1930's-style pilot watches Patek was trying to evoke, even if that style seemed pretty far out of line for the rest of the brand's catalog. Something about a more traditional case layout and the inclusion of the chronograph feels like what the watch should have been all along.
That said, I think it's the watch from link Omega's Olympics releases that I could most imagine adding to my collection. The heritage inspiration is right up my alley. While 36mm would have link been more “heritage-sized,” on the wrist it's a comfortable option and worth a second look for people link looking to add a dress watch to their collection.
