I stayed up late night watching a film, snuggled up with my hubby and our two dogs in bed. I just couldn't get to sleep afterwards, though, as I usually sleep in the spare room, which I now call my boudoir. In the early hours, I snuck back to my bed and finally dropped off. That meant that I didn't wake up until 9am and didn't get up until 9.30am, after I'd pressed the snooze button a few times..

My husband had beaten me downstairs and had kindly started cooking breakfast. My older daughter and I joined him and a coffee helped to stir my brain and body into action. The dogs were barking like lunatics until it turned into a double howl, as they bounced off one another, which could only mean that the Sunday papers had arrived - heaven. Sat and read them before having a shower at 11am. Bliss.

My daughter suggested we do a five minute de-clutter game, which involves putting on a timer on and delving into the loft with a carrier bag and grabbing any items of your own which you want to throw out or give away. We each managed to fill a bag, ready to give the charity shop on Monday. Result.

I spent the next hour ironing and watching Killing Eve (I am loving that drama at the moment) while my husband went to collect my younger daughter from a sleepover. Once home, she went upstairs to do a Skype French lesson (mod cons and all that) while us three chopped and prepared lunch. It was a Gousto recipe, which was delicious - Nasi Goreng. We all decided that instead of big food shop this week, we would order Gousto as half price deal on which meant 4 meals for 4 at a total of £25. Bargain.

My older daughter had to travel back to uni and my husband having just sold his car to a buyer not far from there, decided they would have one last drive in it, killing two birds with one stone. I continued with my ironing with Killing Eve, had dinner with my younger daughter, which involved heating up the Nasi Goreng leftovers - lovely jubley. More de-cluttering was calling me so I went through all my jewellery boxes which contain mostly costume jewellery and because I am such a hoarder, I could only let go of a few necklaces. I am useless at this malarky.

I didn't spend anything today - woo hoo!

Okay, then, here I go. More than just a love of watches, the Max Bill managed to induce an appreciation for well-made and thoughtfully designed objects of all types. Perhaps (probably?) this is mostly self-delusional in an attempt to justify link the continued pursuit of link building a “collection,” whatever that means. The Max Bill introduced me to the idea that objects can be more than just the gadgets and gizmos the Little Mermaid sings link about and can open you up to this whole other world of lunacy.
