For a while now, my family have been eating courtesy of a company delivering boxes of ingredients with receipe cards, which I ensemble together for us to eat. I usually enjoy cooking using this method as I hate food shopping, especially at the moment during the pandemic. I sometimes pour a glass of wine, always put the radio on and chop away, blocking out all the background sounds, such as barking dogs and family members asking where things are and mainly produce a near masterpiece about 40 minutes later.

The latest concoction from our box of delights, though, took over an hour and got right on my nerves. There was one pan for toasting almonds, another for frying onions, one for boiling rice, another for this, that and the other. I wouldn't have been surprised if I was asked to get into a pan myself and to be fair, I almost would have been tempted, I was so worn out.

I think that the creators of this recipe must have been crying with laughter putting it together, imagining whoever was cooking it would have to do so much washing up. My younger daughter came down into the kitchen later that evening, as she fancied pancakes and asked "Peter," (her nickname for me) "why aren't there any pans?"

When Covid struck, the hospitality industry was one of the hardest hit. "We almost closed the restaurant," the chef recalls. It was during this dark time that Kim link says he looked at his watches and began to see them as assets. "What if something happened and I needed to pay the restaurant's rent or make payroll." When the watch market exploded and prices went up, he started link to feel like he couldn't justify link wearing some of the pieces because of their sudden appreciation.
